We're pleased to announce an exciting new project being developed by our friends at Westcave Outdoor Discovery Center. The Roadrunner Outdoor Adventure Bus will connect thousands of children in Austin to nature by lowering costs of transportation. As an organization that engages with under-served youth on a regular basis and connects them to nature through our Teaching Garden field trips, we at SFC have seen how transportation issues can be a barrier to getting children outside...

We know parking in downtown Austin can sometimes be a headache. But we’re here to let you in on a little secret: there are plenty of parking options near the SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown! Whether you’re just not sure where to look or you’re afraid parking is too expense, we’re here to help. Read on for few tips if you’ve always wanted to attend our SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown on Saturdays at Republic Square Park, but have let our city's parking woes keep you away.

Free Cooking After Cancer Series

SFC's The Happy Kitchen/La Cocina Alegre® is excited to announce the next Cooking After Cancer series—a free six-week cooking class for cancer survivors! Class will meet on Mondays from March 23 to April 27 from 6-7:30 PM at SFC Teaching Kitchen, and we can provide free childcare and transportation assistance if you’d need a gas card or a bus pass to help you arrive. Participants should plan to attend all six weeks, and we recommend the class for people who are at least four months out of treatment. Farm to Plate 2015 Chefs Announced!
Farm to Plate 2015 is coming up on May 14, and we're pleased to announce the list of culinary artisans who will be serving up delicious, locally sourced bites at our annual fundraiser on the historic grounds of Barr Mansion.
