Many years ago when the Sustainable Food Center Farmers’ Market Downtown was still called the Austin Farmers’ Market, we created a tent to educate our wonderful customers about food from the market. Many changes have happened at the Markets since then, but one of the constants has been Taste the Place. SFC is proud of the work our volunteers do each week to offer samples of the amazing foods provided by our market vendors. Fresh & New at SFC Farmers' Markets
As cooler temperatures make their way to Austin, it’s time to check out what is arriving at market as summer winds down and the fall season begins. At the SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown head over to Logro Farms for oyster mushrooms which are great for sautéing or as an accent to stir-fry. If you’re in the mood for sweet, make a visit to our other Saturday market in Sunset Valley for Engel Farms sweet melons and watermelons. If dairy is what you are looking for, you’ll find all the fresh eggs you need at the Tuesday market from Margaret’s Farm and our Wednesday market at The Triangle will have a variety of produce from okra to squash. You’ll be able to find delicious prepared foods at all four SFC Farmers’ Markets, ranging in variety from vegan sweet treats to mini tacos from El Cruz Ranch food truck. Learn more »
