Celebrate National Farmers' Market Week

August is coming with its intense heat, and we know that doesn’t stop Austinites from looking for something to do. So, come celebrate National Farmers’ Market Week with us at SFC Farmers’ Markets! Join us to celebrate the market, our vendors and you! National Farmers’ Market week technically runs from August 7th to the 13th, however we will start our festivities on August 6th. This is the perfect time to come to the market for the first time or show your love for everyone’s favorite hardworking vendors.

We have a ton planned for you at all of our markets, so come out and enjoy the week with SFC Farmers’ Markets. Read on for details on everything we have planned!

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown, Saturday from 9am-1pm:

  • Exotic Greens:  Try something new this weekend with Munkebo Farms. Stop by their booth for Egyptian Spinach, Magenta Spreen, and Amaranth leaves. Throw these greens in your summer salad or cook them for a fun side dish. The dried leaves of Egyptian Spinach can also be used to thicken soup or make tea.
  • Cool Treats: Cool off this weekend with a cold beverage from Fete Accompli. Try out the Cantaloupe Scrub with basil, mint and white balsamic vinegar, the Thai Seasoned Melon Limeade with coconut milk and pineapple, or the Watermelon Limeade with coconut milk, mint and ginger for a refreshing treat.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley, Saturday from 9am-1pm:

  • Grassfed Beef and Pastured Pork: Stop by the Richardson Farm booth (at Sunset Valley AND Downtown) for all your summer grilling needs. Delight your friends with 1.5 inch thick boneless ribeye steaks or 1 inch thick pork chops (sold 2 per package). If you are a raw milk fan, take a trip out to their farm to purchase some of their newly available Grade-A raw milk!

Go Fig or Go Home
Lick Honest Ice Creams is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from its seasonal Fromage & Fig ice cream, which sources figs directly from Urban Roots, to SFC. In addition, Lick is donating 40 percent of its proceeds to SFC from an ice cream making workshop at Kettle & Brine on August 6. Learn more »

SFC on Good Day Austin
Chef James Zoller and the TRACE team will participate in two upcoming events benefitting SFC: White Linen Night and Hell Night. In this segment with FOX 7 Austin, Chef James is preparing one of his Hell Night at TRACE dishes - Salmon Crudo with serrano, cured green tomato, chayote, cilantro, orange, poppy seed and ghost pepper dust.
