SFC and Texas Episcopal Service Corps- a Match Made in Food Heaven

SFC has entered into its second year of partnership with the Texas Episcopal Service Corps. SFC has the pleasure of hosting a fellow for 11 months of service. Texas Episcopal Service Corps is a, “fellowship that encourages intentional mission community in the Diocese of Texas. The program provides the time and space for young adults, ages 21-30, to work for social justice, grow as leaders, and live in community”. We are happy to welcome Cora Ezell to the team for the for an eleven month term of service. Read on to learn more about Cora and her work with SFC.

Community Garden Leadership Training

THIS WEEK AT SFC FARMERS' MARKETS

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown, Saturday from 9am-1pm:

  • Pie season is here! Stop by Texas Food Ranch to try out sweet potato and pumpkin pies. They will also have pecans available along with some spring flavors in their Spring Salad Mix of 5 lettuces!
  • Squeaky Clean: South Austin People/ SoAP has come out with 3 new bars just for you! Try out their Blue Spruce Clove, Blossom, and Lavender Petit Grain Coffee Scrubs. They will also have a Peppermint Bar available (no oats)!
  • Reserve Your Turkey: Invite one of Belle Vie Farm and Kitchen’s turkeys to Thanksgiving this year. Their turkeys are pasture raised and organically fed, but don’t forget to make a reservation for yours! If you’re looking for something different this year, they will also have cured and smoked ham available.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley, Saturday from 9am-1pm:

  • Yard to Market Co-op: Always grown and produced in Austin-area yards - stop by Yard to Market Co-op to get your duck and chicken eggs. They will have pears, salad tomatoes, and dhishito peppers.
