This group of individuals contains the largest cohort who have lived in an almost entirely digital age, while also being the most educated and diverse generation. This recipe for success is being implemented to change the face of agriculture in innovative and creative ways. SFC Community Farm Stand East Seasonal Break
The SFC Community Farm Stand East is on a seasonal break through the winter. Our final market day of the year was on October 11. Tremendous thanks goes out to Johnson’s Backyard Garden, who kept a weekly presence at the East farm stand.


SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown, Saturday from 9am-1pm:

  • Leaving Soon: Make sure to visit Swede Farm this year while you still can! Their low season is on its way, so be sure stock up on all your favorite dairy products including chevre, feta, yogurt, and milk. Reminder their milk and cheese freeze well!
  • Spice up Thanksgiving: Confituras will have Tipsy Cranberry Sauce and Cranberry Jalapeño Jelly just in time for Thanksgiving! Visit them for a new way to try out one of your holiday favorites.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley, Saturday from 9am-1pm:

  • Looking for some variety? Yard to Market Co-op has the perfect assortment of produce for you! They will have kumquats, grapefruit, pears, strawberry starts and duck eggs, along with much more.
  • Solar Power: Interested to learn more about solar power and how it works? Sun Energy X & Green Energy Partners will be demonstrating how various solar powered devices work. Stop by to learn about the benefits of renewable energy!

Farm Flicks
Connect with your Central Texas farmers through the art of film and food. On November 15, the Alamo Drafthouse Austin will debut three short documentary films about Green Gate Farms, Indian Hills Farm and Grass Fed Beef, and nonprofit Farmgrass. The Farm Flicks event includes a locally sourced meal, a live Q&A and a conversation with the farmers moderated by Edible Austin publisher Marla Camp. Learn more »
