Guest Teacher Spotlight: Tylesia "Tye" Lewis

Our new guest teacher Tylesia “Tye” Lewis provides cooking lessons and classes all over the Austin Metro area through her business, Tye Cooks Austin. Tye’s classes focus on creating ethnic-inspired meals using budget-friendly pantry staples. She also works with individuals who are following or transitioning to specialized diets like gluten-free, soy-free and vegetarian. Tye's classes are full of hints, tips and above all fun! We recently chatted with Tye about her experience with cooking and her advice for budget-conscious cooks. SFC’s Fotonovela Press Conference at Expo-Amigha
Our new fotonovela is a collaborative effort between Sustainable Food Center, Mama Sana Vibrant Woman, Latino Health Care Forum and Asian American Resource Center Nonprofit, and will be presented at Expo-Amigha 2017 on April 29th. Titled “Conozca los Mercados SFC: Bienestar a tu Alcance”, this fotonovela highlights real-life characters as they take us step-by-step to learn how families can obtain up to $30 dollars in additional benefits when they buy fruits and vegetables at participating markets.
