SFC FARMERS' MARKET HAPPENINGS

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown, Sat. Feb 17th from 9am-1pm:

  • Sunny Skies: The guys behind Texas Food Ranch are back this weekend after finishing a renovation on their new grow tunnels! This should ensure that they have enough fresh veggies to feed us here in Austin no matter the weather. Stop by this weekend for lots of lettuce mix, spinach, kale, Brussels sprouts, beets, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower.
  • Is That A Tamale In Your Pocket? Did you know that Tamale Addiction’s hot tamales make great hand and pocket warmers? The only problem is that we can’t wait to eat them! That’s why you should pick up a few for your hands and a few to chow down on this weekend to fight off the impending cold. Try a chicken mole if you are feeling traditional, or a veggie and feta filled spring tamale if you can’t wait for winter to be over.
  • Meet Chef Kabui! SFC and Eden East are proud to present "Meet Chef Kabui: Food, Race and Justice; a discussion and picnic" this weekend at our Downtown market.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley, Sat. Feb. 17th from 9am-1pm:

  • We Meat Again: Old Gambler Jerky makes their triumphant return to Sunset Valley this weekend! Stop by their booth for the highest quality jerky around, hand cut from all-natural angus beef. It’s sure to satisfy you as both a strong snack and vibrant protein source.
  • Do You Carrot All? Stop by Johnson’s Backyard Garden for the bounteous offerings you know and love. This week they’ve got a limited amount of Brussels sprout stalks, so don’t wait to stop by and stock up! If you don’t make it before the Brussels sprouts leave the stand, there will be plenty of JBG’s delicious carrots to go around - crisp and sweet, and straight out the ground to you!
  • Hippo Paint Party: No need to get your eyes checked, there IS a herd of hippo statues all over the Sunset Valley market! Swing by the Hippo Home Insurance booth for some info and then you can help decorate and paint these hippo statues before they are auctioned off next week to benefit Special Olympics Texas.
