Farm to Work's Fresh New Look!


With roots dating back to 2007, our Farm to Work project was long overdue for some freshening up. The past few years have ushered in meteoric growth in program participation and sales. Farm to Work has benefited from market trends towards convenience food delivery models, and it’s exciting to see more farm fresh direct delivery services in our community. With this fresh new look and brand new icon, it is clear to our customers and the community that Farm to Work is part of a larger, mission-driven organization that cultivates a healthy community. We also look forward to rolling out a suite of marketing materials that worksites champions can use to encourage employees to get to know their local farmers and enjoy delicious, healthy food!

Farm to Plate On Sale Now!

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown, Sat. April 7th from 9am-1pm:

  • New Vendors Alert! Welcome Hi-Fi Mycology to the Downtown market, they will be bringing loads of interesting mushrooms including Lion’s Mane, Oyster, Shitake, Reishi and Pioppino! Also returning to market are the ladies at Corona Violeta who will be bringing big bouquets of ranunculas, calendula and cosmos. Urban Roots is also returning with a new crop of youth interns as well as radishes, greens, turnips and more. If all this shopping has you heating up, never fear as Mom & Pops will be here with all natural frozen paletas and all new aguas frescas and horchatas.
  • Berry Pleased: We are right at the height of the shortest and sweetest season of all - Strawberry season! You can pick up these beauts from Agua Dulce or Texas Food Ranch Downtown, or from Engel Farms at the Sunset Valley and Downtown markets.

Give 5% to Mother Earth
April 20. Austin Give 5% to Mother Earth is a campaign held each year in honor of Earth Day. Austin businesses pledge to donate 5% of their sales on Friday, April 20 to the Give 5 fund, which is then distributed equally to nine nonprofit organizations working to preserve and protect our local environment. So get out there on April 20th, shop at one of the participating businesses, and support SFC and our local environment! Learn more »

Austin Funky Chicken Coop Tour
April 21, 10am-4pmThe Funky Chicken Coop Tour®, is an annual self guided tour held each spring on Easter weekend to encourage city residents to raise chickens at home by demonstrating the many ways that chicken coops can be incorporated into urban residences. Many tour hosts demonstrate how to incorporate chickens, and their manure, into a household gardening and composting regimen that results in inexpensive, healthy and sustainable food, even in relatively small spaces.
