Petals Ink Farm Visit

Stories From the Farm

We're headed back to the land. This year our Farm Direct team will be visiting all 38 farms and ranches selling at our SFC’s Farmers’ Markets and through Farm to Work. This adds up to a total of 4,100 miles across Central Texas, which is equivalent to driving from SFC to Anchorage, Alaska!

We are blessed to work with many amazing agricultural producers across the vast and varied landscapes of Central Texas, from Cat Spring to Fredonia and Mexia to Seguin, and everywhere in between. Keep reading for just a couple highlights of what we’ve seen and heard so far.

THIS WEEK AT THE SFC FARMERS' MARKETS

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown, Sat. Sept 29th from 9am-1pm:

  • Fall Fest: Head Downtown this weekend for our 2nd Annual Fall Fest! Headlining the day's festivities is Honey Tap, singing powerful ballads and smooth jams destined to get your hips swinging. Next head to the Taste the Place booth for a look inside the traditional three sisters featuring dishes made with corn, beans and squash, plus tasty treats from all over the market. Drop the kiddos off for pumpkin painting and then pose for a pic in our fall themed photobooth!
  • Cool Front: Need a new way to chill? Head to Mineral Health this weekend to invest in some full spectrum hemp oil. These drops are naturally rich in CBD to promote mental, physical and emotional well-being.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley, Sat. Sept 29th from 9am-1pm:

  • Bah-Boom: Hear the drum and bass of the annual CapCity Marching Fest this weekend at the Toney Burger Stadium. Our market will be moving to the Southwest corner of the parking lot, right off the corner of Jones Rd and Ernest Robles Way.
  • Cheesed Off: Come out and grab the best of Richardson Farms’ dairy at both our Sunset Valley and Downtown markets this weekend. Available this weekend are various cheeses, made from their A2 Milk. The selection includes: white cheddar, gouda, pepper jack, asiago, and swiss.
