THIS WEEK AT THE SFC FARMERS' MARKETS

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Don't forget to stock up on fresh, local goods for your holiday feast at one of our SFC Farmers' Markets this weekend!

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown, Sat. Nov. 17th from 9am-1pm:

  • Goodness Greens: With the autumn weather in full force comes the beginning of one of our favorites of the fall bounty: dark leafy greens! Try some of the Brussel greens from Texas Food Ranch - they cook up as deliciously as collards. Bolster your market bastket with B5 Farms bok choy, and stock your sack with Springfield Farm’s purple kale!
  • Sweet Treats: Don’t let the start of chilly weather freeze you out, bolster yourself with a helping of locally made treats! Luv Fats will be offering some Kenyan mandazi (a lightly cardamom spiced doughnut) or chapati (a flaky flatbread) to accompany their dairy-free ice cream! Try the fresh made French pastries from Chef Julie Myrtille, or grab a cinnamon bun or cupcake from the triumphant return to market by Happy Vegan Baker this weekend.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley, Sat. Nov. 17th from 9am-1pm:

  • Giving You the Bird: Don’t have a centerpiece for your holiday feast? It’s not too late - come to the market this weekend! Party Fowl Farm and Richardson Farms still have birds available for your holiday meals. Be it turkey or chicken, they’ve the birds you’d want to feature in your Thanksgiving feast! Looking for the other white meat? Try one of the tasty cuts of pork from Blue Donkey Farm!
  • Soup’d Up: It’s that time of year to bust out those big pots and start soup making! Grab some of the fantastic fungi from Goldenwood Mushrooms, they’re just as stellar in soups as they are sautéed. Make yourself a hearty butternut soup with all the different leafy greens from New Leaf Agriculture and some of the butternut squash from Engel Farms.
