2019 Texas Legislature - 3 Things We'd Like to See

Local farmers and ranchers are heading into the 2019 Texas Legislative Session with a hot hand. After winning key victories in the 2018 Farm Bill, we are setting our sights on advancing policies that further sustainable agriculture and food access at the state level. THIS WEEKEND AT THE MARKETS  -  SAT, JAN 26, 2019

Thank You Odd Duck, Sour Duck and Barley Swine!
We'd like to thank Odd Duck, Sour Duck Market, and Barley Swine for supporting SFC Farmers’ Market growers, farmers and ranchers during the month of January. All month their vendor fees will be waived through their support. We are grateful to these restaurant partners for supporting local food producers and for giving back to the community.

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown:

  • Like an Animal: Swing by Farmer Cas’ booth this weekend to grab some of Animal Farm’s winter bounty. They’ll have spicy arugula, delectable salad mix, carrots, sunchokes, and more! Not feeling like any mouthwatering veggies? Brighten up the room with some of their fresh flowers; this week’s bouquets include dahlias, lilies and snapdragons to make your table setting pop.
  • On Edge: Looking to make cooking a little easier? Come get your knives back in tip-top shape at Knife Party this weekend! Devin will have his mobile workshop set up at 9am sharp on the western end of market, ready to put that fine edge back on those knives of yours.

SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset Valley:

  • Bunches of Bunches: Looking to get greens this weekend? Stop by Esperanza Farms and New Leaf Agriculture! Esperanza will have their ever-fresh lettuce, sold to you with roots still attached for a better flavor and longer shelf life. New Leaf is serving up cilantro, kale, chard and more from their farm just east of town. Combine some greens with the fresh mozzarella from Lira Rosa to make a smash hit market salad!
  • Tasty Pastries: Looking for some sweets that combine all the goodness of market? Le Renard loves using seasonal farm goods in their pastries, using egg and milk from Richardson’s and Meyer lemons from Indian Hills to get you the best the market has to offer in one bite!
