New Fall Classes are Now Available!

Our new Fall 2019 classes have just been released and are available for registration. You'll find multiple occurrences of our popular Essential Knife Skills class, and we are excited to host another installment of our Fundamentals of Healthy Home Cooking 6-class series. Through this course you'll learn lifelong healthy eating habits co-taught by Gastroenterologist Dr. John Cluley.

Spice things up with The Indian Home Cook and A Taste of East Africa. Learn new skills in Meat Curing 101 and Kombucha, Kimchi and Probiotics with Casper Fermentables. BBQ is for everyone in our Vegan BBQ Fest, and celebrate the holidays with our annual Tamalada! Making Homemade Tamales with El Cruz Ranch.

If you're interested in starting or reviving a school or community garden this fall, our Garden Leadership Training is for you. However, we will no longer be offering other gardening classes to the general public. Visit our website for a list of organizations around town who offer a wide variety of gardening classes to help you get started in growing a garden of your own.

THIS WEEKEND AT THE MARKETS  -  SAT, JULY 20, 2019

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown and at Sunset Valley:

  • In The Food Court: Skip breakfast and head to Sunset valley for some BBQ chicken kabobs, gather up a few traditional tamales, and cool off with a fresh-pressed, local juice or get hopped up with an iced mocha and you’ve got instant market brunch.
  • Cute Things Only: If you haven't tried a cucamelon yet head over to Tecolote Farm at our Downtown market and pick up a couple of the smallest watermelon shaped fruits you can find. Eat ‘em like grapes or toss into a salad with tiny microgreens from rev pioneers, and a handful of edible squash blossoms from Animal Farm for a stunning midsummer dish.

For information on which vendors will be at market, what products are in season, and more visit our This Week at the Markets webpage »
