THIS WEEKEND AT THE MARKETS  -  SAT, AUG 10, 2019

SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown and at Sunset Valley:

  • National Farmers’ Market Week: Make sure your food dollars stay in our community by shopping local from the farmers’ market for National Farmers’ Market Week! This annual celebration is a reminder to all of us to show gratitude and thank our farmers, ranchers, beekeepers, mushroom cultivators, backyard gardeners and everyone else who makes sure food grown here is available to everyone at our weekly markets. Show your love to our vendors this weekend at both markets with our annual “Love My Vendor” contest (winning vendors get a free booth this weekend!) and let the kiddos run around on our very own farmers’ market scavenger hunt. Thanks to you for coming to shop with us every weekend, see you at the markets!
  • Moo-ve Along: Richardson’s Farm is onsite with fresh A2, low-temperature pasteurized milk from their happy cows in Rockdale. A2 milk has less of the protein that make some people sensitive to dairy, so try some out this weekend. Cheese lovers can also find cheddar, pepper jack and gouda made with farm fresh milk at both the Sunset Valley and Downtown markets.
  • Fuzzy Green Pods: It wouldn’t be a market in August if we didn’t talk about our favorite southern delight, okra! Pickled, stewed, roasted until crispy, pan-fried or grilled this versatile summer veggie will be all over the markets this weekend. If you need a little more inspiration, catch our friends from Hat & Heart Farm sautéing some beautiful pods last week on Good Day Austin!
