UNPACKING THE STATE OF CENTRAL TEXAS AGRICULTURE |
|
You may have heard the 2020 Census is about to begin. Our government gathers this information to better understand our population and needs, which influence policies, funding, and more. There is also is a lesser-known census completed every 5 years: the USDA Agricultural Census.

Keep reading to learn what we found out, and how Central Texas agriculture compares to the rest of the state and the nation. |

V Day Every Day: Keep the loving vibes going all weekend-long with sweet treats from the farmers’ markets! Stop by Sunset Valley early to pick up a pint of spring strawberries from Flintrock Hill Farm (make it by 9am or you’ll be outta luck). Head down the path to Le Renard Patisserie for an assortment of jams made from local ingredients like local Llano apples, fresh strawberry and *new this week* sweet Texas grapefruit.
Where's the Love? Celebrate Valentine's all weekend long by picking up a beautiful bouquet from Animal Farm Center: their irises, roses, calanthea, foraged blooms and handmade pottery are perfect for your sweetheart! On the sweeter side you can head to Julie Myrtille Bakery for almond croissant heart shaped hearts to help you keep a celebration going until Monday. |
